Come and celebrate the end of term at the Riverside Festival on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June, right here, on campus! Partnering with Leicester City Council, the Cultural eXchanges festival will run in conjunction with Riverside for the first time in its 24-year history.
By partnering with the Riverside Festival, which attracted more than 75,000 visitors last year, DMU brings Cultural eXchanges to an even larger audience. The Riverside Festival is free to attend and features street food, a funfair, live music and events like the ever-popular dragon boat race.
Cultural eXchanges, organised by final-year Arts and Festivals Management students, will feature a range of performances and activities celebrating the rich cultural diversity of DMU and the Leicester community. Highlights include live music from Marcus Joseph, Honest Dave, and a steel band, alongside performances from students and creative workshops.

Among the performers are DMU students Shu Yu, Yonghao Zhou and Jiali Lou, who will share their musical heritage through piano recitals and songs performed in Chinese. Yonghao, known to his friends as Ricky, will be singing two songs in Chinese, says: “The two songs I am singing are about love. I don’t think it matters if the song isn’t in English, they will understand the meaning, and hopefully everyone will like it.”
Whether you’re looking to explore, learn or be inspired, this festival is your chance to immerse yourself in unforgettable performances and unique industry events.
